Product Design
Maison Sonore is a speculative wearable record player designed for 2035, a future where plastic has become a luxury material. Built around 3-inch vinyl, it reimagines physical music through scarcity, portability, and emotional value.

Problem
I collaborated with a five-person team on concept development, form exploration, and physical prototyping, helping translate a speculative future scenario into a tangible product experience.
Overview
Made for the CSM × LVMH brief “Plastic Extinction”, Maison Sonore imagines 2035: plastic bans and resource crises have made polymer more precious than gold. Vinyl, once a cheap mass medium, becomes a luxury material. We designed a wearable 3-inch record player that turns a few grams of plastic into a personal, collectable object.
Speculative context
In our scenario, plastic bans, environmental crises and technology monopolies rewrite the global economic order. Synthetic polymers become the new gold, rising 750% in value since 2020, while gold and silver fall 85% and become ordinary industrial materials. Lab-made polymers turn into national strategic reserves.
